The Northern Students’ Forum (NSF), Obafemi Awolowo University is a community of students from nineteen (19) states that made up the three geopolitical zones in the country, namely, North-Central, North-West and North-East, who are proud of their northern heritage, tired of the stultifying effects of tribal stereotypes, and invests passionately in the capacity building of their members and above all, are committed to the values of national unity, integration and development.a The Forum came to be as a result of a burning desire to puncture the age long myths of “northern singularity, backwardness, and extremism” among other half-truths perpetuated ignorantly or maliciously by certain persons or group of persons-and to sensitize youths, especially of northern origin, on opportunities, developments and responsibilities in our commonwealth.
